Why Use Two Investigators

So you have decided to call an investigator because you feel your spouse is, for the lack of a better term, “cheating” on you. However you define this word you now feel the need for some evidence to support your allegation. Now the questions begs, how does my chosen investigator go about attaining this evidence? While there are many ways to tackle this dilemma most people settle on “surveillance” of the suspected individual, who we refer to as the “Subject”. Your investigator first needs to be a good listener and second he/she needs to offer you suggestions as to how and go about attaining your goals. An investigation is a partnership between the client and the investigator. Both need each other in order for a successful outcome, however success is defined.

At WAB Investigations we prefer the use of two highly trained, highly motivated seasoned investigators in order to attain the best possible results. Prices are relatively the same all across the board but most companies like to place one investigator in order to maximize their earning potential. Yes, it does cost more to use a second investigator,”although we give a discount for the use of a second man” but it just makes more sense.Always keep in mind that if you felt the need to hire an investigator, your partner (subject) is more than likely looking over his/her back and is on a much more heightened sense of alert of their surroundings. Over the years we have found that clients who adhere to this tactic will, on average save more in the end. With the use of two investigators you will now have two different vehicles covering two different exit points. They will have an advantage with each using a video camera in two different locations with a different angle. Sometimes only one will have a vantage point to actually secure video. While tailing an individual you can constantly switch off having a different vehicle following instead of the same car continuously behind the subject. While using two investigators you have the advantage of taking turns conducting spot checks on a property or if the individual is outdoors. If the job requires multiple days of surveillance you always want to leave the job without the individual ever knowing we were present and the use of two investigators accomplishes this. As an example, during a recent surveillance we were following a cheating spouse and he began to make several U-turns and made it through a traffic light as if possibly suspicious. We quickly changed the lead vehicle for a different look and continued following. This could never be accomplished when conducting infidelity surveillance with one investigator and that’s why the use of two investigators is the better choice.

Keep in mind that any agency will charge you for the time their investigator is out on the field whether they lose the Subject or not. As an example, you hire XYC Investigations and they are positioned at the Subject’s residence for 3 hours then the time comes when the Subject departs. Within 5 minutes the Subject is lost due to a traffic signal device that the investigator was unable to overcome (we too must follow the rules of the road). Now you are on the hook for the three hours of surveillance plus travel time and mileage and have ended up with ZERO evidence. Had there been two investigators on the case, 99 percent of the time the Subject would still be followed by the one investigator who was able to cross the light before it changed. Changing up the rear view for the Subject keeps them at ease and more likely to pursue their true intention. Please give us a call and tell us your situation. It’s free and could end up saving you lots of headaches in the end. WAB Investigations is here to help in Charlotte and the surrounding areas. We are your partners in identifying the truth.
